Purpose: 

The Alberta Vein to Vein Society (AVV) was formed to formalize the planning and delivery of continuing education sessions on transfusion medicine in Alberta. 

Board of Directors: 

Duties, responsibilities and terms of office of Board members are explained in the Society's bylaws and policies 

Function: 

The AVV Society:

• Organizes the Vein-to-Vein workshop, which generally alternates between Edmonton and Calgary.  The workshop is not usually held in years when the Canadian Society for Transfusion Medicine (CSTM) national conference is held in Alberta. 
• Organizes other educational events as decided by the Board of Directors.
• Liaises with the CSTM about educational activities in transfusion medicine within Alberta.
  

Membership:

Membership is open to individuals associated with transfusion medicine in Alberta and the Northwest Territories. 

Meetings: 

An Annual General Meeting is held in accordance with Society bylaws.  Meetings of the Board and meetings of the Society are called by the President in accordance with Society bylaws and policies. 

Accountability: 

The Board of Directors is accountable to the members of the Society.
