Awards Program

The Awards program supports the continuing education in transfusion medicine and encourages participation in the Canadian Society for Transfusion Medicine (CSTM) annual conference by providing funds to qualified CSTM members who will attend the conference. 

Qualified CSTM members

• Live/work in Alberta 
• Work in, are studying in, or graduated from a healthcare profession in the last 2 years and
• Have an interest in transfusion medicine

Three awards are given annually

• Two to persons working in healthcare. Preference given to front line staff working in transfusion medicine, but managers and administrative staff are eligible as well. One award for South Sector and one award for North Sector. 
• One award to a person in training in healthcare such as an intern, resident, or student in laboratory technology, laboratory assisting, nursing, or other healthcare field related to transfusion medicine.

Value of Award

The award recipient receives reimbursement equivalent to a CSTM members early bird full conference registration, including workshops up to $1500.
